It's snuck up on me fast, but I think I'm ready! Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year, I especially like the shopping (not so much the spending). Most of my shopping was done before Thanksgiving, of course nothing got wrapped until this weekend though! Last weekend was spent at mom and dad's house making Christmas goodies and visiting Santa Claus. Griffin didn't love him, but he didn't scream (I considered that a success!) So, the presents are bought, wrapped and under the tree, the cards sent, the goodies made - bring on Christmas!! As usual our calendar gets pretty full with Christmas festivities. Christmas eve will be spent at both my Grandma Oehrlein's house and then Josh's Grandma Lange's. Christmas day will start at home with Santa gifts, then to Mom's for our family Christmas and on to my aunt Nellie's in Richmond for Christmas dinner. Christmas at Josh's mom and dad's will be Saturday after Christmas. The first weekend in January we celebrate Cousin Christmas on Saturday in Chanhassen and on Sunday is Christmas with Josh's Grandpa Digger in Freeport. Finally, we have Christmas with the Casper's (Josh's mom's family) on the 10th of January and that wraps it all up! (You understand now why I say BRING IT ON!) I love each gathering for different reasons, I just hope the weather cooperates for traveling!
By now, most of you probably know that Josh and I are expecting baby number 2, Griffin is going to be a big brother soon! While we weren't exactly trying for this one, we were not not trying and we are thrilled!! The baby is due June 6, that puts us almost 16 weeks right now. It seems crazy to think in only 5 months there will be a new baby Lange, but we couldn't be happier. As for the pregnancy, I feel great. The first few weeks I was pretty tired, but my energy is back now and so far so good. We had a dating ultrasound around 8 weeks and they said everything looks good right now. Our second ultrasound will be in January.
Griffin continues to grow and amaze us. We celebrated his first birthday two weeks ago. He loved the banana cake is grandma Patti made! Lots of family came to celebrate with us and we had lots of fun watching Griffin open his gifts (at times he was more interested in the packaging). Griffin and I just finished his first school session. We met lots of new people and learned some stuff too. It was neat to watch him interact with other kids his age. Each class there was a parent discussion part, so I got some good info too. Also, he started to walk about 3 weeks ago, he's becoming such a big boy!
Josh is slowing down at work now. This last week he started working 40 hour weeks with Fridays off. Most of those Fridays will be spent fishing I'm sure. He'll also have more time to do some projects around here. Yesterday he finished shelves in the basement for storage - one of the many projects included in finishing our basement. The plan is to have it finished by the time the baby comes.
For now, we continue to be happy and healthy and we wish the same for you in the new year!

A Lot Has Changed!
Alright, so I've gotten enough grief from everyone about not updating my blog and thought I should set aside some time to do so! I'm not sure where to start, it's been awhile. Summer is flying by. I feel like it just got here, yet it's half over already! We've been very busy. Our time has been taken up with visits to the cabin, afternoons at the lake (Mom and Dad's), family get togethers and of course a few playdates thrown in too!
I've been back to work now for 4 months. Now that Griffin in older it's not so bad, but there are still days I wish I could stay home with him! Works going well though. The atmosphere is very family friendly, which is wonderful!! I have a lot of support from all the other mothers I work with. I haven't been running much this summer (which I miss) but Griffin and I do manage to get a few walks in here and there when the bugs aren't too bad! Also, I've continued yoga on Monday nights. Other than that, being a mom doesn't leave much time left for anything else! But it's wonderful and I wouldn't trade it for the world!
Josh continues to be busy at Lange Trenching. The work started really slow this spring, as most contruction workers did. It has picked up now, and we just hope it stays busy. When he's not working, his been spending a lot of his evenings and free time out and our land. We are getting ready to build a shed this summer yet. We decided not to sell our house for another few years, with the housing market the way it is, we decided to wait a bit. So Josh has been busy getting the driveway in and meeting with various contractors.
I know I've said this before, but Griffin continues to amaze us every day!! He sits up by himself like a big boy and is flirting with the idea of crawling now that he's got rolling mastered! His favorite sound to say is BABABABABA and he says it regularly! It's fun to pretend to carry on a conversation with him! I did stay home for the first time with home not long ago because he had a fever ( I think it was harder on me than him!) I started the day at work and couldn't stop thinking about him being sick, so my co-workers sent me home at 9:30 and said I should be with my baby! (See what I mean, great support from the co-workers!) Griffin survived and so did I! He has gone to his daycare a couple times now. This fall he will leave Grandma's and start there full time. There is another little guy there about 2 months older than Griffin and it's fun to see the two interact! Although we will really miss Grandma's, I think being around the other kids will be good for him and so far we really like his daycare mom!
Well, I think that about brings the Lange family up to speed. I'll try not to wait so long for another update, but I'm not promising anything:-) Hope everyone is doing well, Congrats to the VanBecks on their baby girl, I can't wait to see the pics!

Another "COLD" Day!
By putting cold in quotes, I mean a couple things. The first is the obvious, it is freezing outside!! The sun is wonderful, but the temperature is awful! And second, cold in our house means we've got colds!! Griffin and I are both stuffed up and coughing a bit. Thankfully, Griffin's isn't quite as bad as mine, I hope he doesn't get worse. We had to cancel his 3 month pictures today because of our nasty colds. He's not quite 3 months yet, but I wanted to get them in before I go back to work. Yes, that's right, you read it correctly, my maternity leave is almost over :-( I go back in one more week, and I am dreading every second of it! I love my job, but I love staying home with Griffin more! Luckily I won't be wondering about the care he'll be receiving while I'm at work, his Grandma Janet will be watching him for the first year. It would be even harder to go back if I had to leave him at a daycare.
My maternity leave has been spent doing lots of little day outings, usually with Kelly and Kiley, and doing lots of visiting with family and friends. I'm really going to miss it!
Josh continues to work four 10 hour days and has Fridays off, usually for fishing. He's gotten lots of fish this winter and we've had a couple fish fries with friends at our house. He's getting ready for the warmer weather when he will be going back to work full force, working close to 60 hours a week!
Griffin is changing so much!! About a week ago he lost most of his hair. Him and Grandpa Terry now look more alike with their similar hair lines. Griffin loves to play on his activity mat and is constantly kicking his legs and moving his arms while playing. He continues to amaze us and we thank God every day for him!! Last night he slept from 10:00pm to 7:00am, yeah Griffin!! Hopefully that continues when I go back to work! The first week or so will be interesting while we adjust to early mornings and having to be somewhere by 8:00.
We don't have a super busy weekend coming up. I'm looking forward to an entire day of scrapbooking with the girls on Friday!!!! Josh will fish Friday morning and then come home to spend the day with Griffin. On Saturday Mom and Dad leave for Arizona to do some golfing and visit my uncle Mark and his fiance Gail. Hopefully they bring some warm weather back with them! On Sunday I may be going to a Bridal show at the Trobec's Event Center with Jenna. On Tuesday this last week, her and Kyle came over to ask Josh and I if we would be in their wedding. We were both very excited and more than happy to do so! It's gonna come fast!

What a Weekend!!
This past weekend can best be described as busy, but a ton of fun!! It began Thursday evening when I went to Avon Idol at Joseph's in Avon. Josh stayed home with the boys. It's basically a karokee contest and anyone can enter. It goes on for about two months every Thursday and the top two contestants advance to the finals at the end of February. I think they are competing for $1000 and the opportunity to sing with Diamond Back. It was a great girl night out! And no, I did not compete in the contest, YIKES! Josh was awesome with Griffin. He had him already in bed when I got home! It was a nice night off for me.
On Friday, the excitement began at about noon. Josh came home from fishing a little earlier than normal so that I could meet some girlfriends at Scrapbooks Plus for an afternoon of scrapbooking. Also a first for me, and definitely not a last! This too was a lot of fun. It went all night, but I left early so I could get to my date with my dad and Griffin. We went to an Albany Girls Basketball game, it was Griffin's first! He seemed to enjoy it, he was a very good boy! After the game we joined Grandma and Grandpa Oehrlein and Amy at the Bowling Alley for some drinks and snacks. It was a really nice evening!
The excitement on Saturday started about the same time as Friday. Josh left for fishing early in the morning and Mom came to pick Griffin and me up to go to Brainerd. We went to Lottie and Joe's for some broomball and to celebrate Lottie's birthday. Happy Birthday Lottie! I actually didn't go for the broomball, I went for the great company, the wonderful food and of course
the always entertaining board games!! Mom, Rhonda, Robin, Matt and I stayed up until midnight playing Loaded Questions. We had so much fun, I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard and so often! (By the way Robin and Rhonda, did you notice I had to spell two of the words that we often mispell?) Although Mom and I were pretty tired driving home, it was so worth it! Griffin spent the night in Great-Aunt Lottie's arms loving every minute of it! (I think Lottie maybe enjoyed it a little too! :-) I almost forgot, another first for me was playing the Wii. Lottie had gotten it for a birthday gift. I tried the bowling and loved it, didn't do very well, but loved it anyway!
Sunday was decided to be family day. Josh, Griffin and I spent the morning and early afternoon together before getting ready to go to Mom and Dad's for their annual Superbowl Party. Lots of people, lots of food and lots of great coversation about sums it up! A little different this year, we had a few little ones running around, but I wouldn't have it any other way, it's so fun to watch the little ones, they definitely add an entire new dimension to get togethers and I think for the better! :-) Speaking of little ones, I hear mine now and better tend to him. Today will be spent mostly resting up after our busy, but fun weekend!

BIG News!!
We have some very exciting news to share; Josh's sister, Jenna, and her boyfriend Kyle are engaged!!! We couldn't be happier for them!! Kyle will make a great addition to the Lange family, it feels like he is already family!! As far as I know, they are planning a wedding for summer/spring of '09. It sounds far away, but I know it will go fast!
As far as our news, not much is new. We had another busy, but really fun weekend! Saturday was spent with lots of little ones. Neil Austin dropped off his 1 year old son, Zeke, at about 8:30 and he spent the day with us. What a wonderful little boy!! He was perfect all day long! He is such a sweet boy. Mom came over to visit and help with the boys. Also, Kelly Wolford and her little girl, Kiley, came over too. It was a really fun afternoon with all the babies!!
Saturday evening was Griffin's first sleepover without mom and dad. He stayed at Grandma Patti's house while Josh and I went out in Albany. We had a lot of fun, maybe even too much! Sunday was spent remembering why we don't go out that late and drink that much anymore :-) It was great to be out again and see everyone though! Also on Sunday, we had our final Christmas celebration for the year. My mom's family got together in Farming. Many of them had not met Griffin yet. It was nice to see everyone again, we don't see that side of the family very often, it's a very big family! My mom is one of 12 kids.
Griffin is changing so much! He's really starting to smile and coo! His new favorite things to do are sitting in his swing looking up at the mobile, and laying under his activity mat looking at all the different toys and lights! He's growing up so fast!! It's sad to think I only have a few more weeks home with him.

One More Christmas to Go!!
This past weekend was very eventful. The weekend began with a little birthday get together at PJ's restaurant in Avon for me. It was a great evening! Josh's entire family, including his Grandma Annette, joined my family, including Grandma and Grandpa Oehrlein and Amy. The food was great and the company was even better! Mom and Dad surprised me with a new Cricut cutter for scrapbooking, I'm very excited to use it. I've got quite a few pictures of Griffin to get started with!
Saturday Josh went icefishing, again. Griffin and I hung out at home, it was too cold to do anything else! In the evening we went to Rice to help celebrate the marriage of Debbie Austin and Jim Wensel. It's always great seeing the Austin's! I no more got in the door and my baby was in the arms of an admirer. I didn't really see him the rest of the night!! Lots of ladies wanted to hold the handsome little boy!
Sunday was my actual birthday, and one of my best to date! The morning was pretty lazy, all four of us laid in bed for a while before getting up for the day. I was surprised with a beautiful necklace from Griffin and a beautiful ring from Josh. Both have Griffin's birth stone in them, they are perfect!!! We went to church in Albany and then to Hillcrest for Josh's Grandpa's Christmas. The afternoon was spent at Grandpa Digger's house with the whole family. It was a really fun time, all three little Lange babies were there - Kiley, 4 months - Easton, 2 months - and Griffin, 6 weeks. We got some great pictures, including a 4 generation picture!
We had a pretty crazy weekend! We've only got one more Christmas get together left. That's right, it's the end of January and we are still going to Christmas'! Josh couldn't be happier!

What's new?
Creating a blog seems to be the thing to do, so better late than never here we go! I just got done reading Rhonda's blog for the first time and I thought it was a great way to keep everyone up to date on what's going on in our lives.
As you know, Josh and I are still adjusting to parenthood. We have been proud parents for just over 5 weeks and have loved every second of it. Okay, maybe not every second - lack of sleep, loud cries, dirty diapers, etc. But it's all so worth it!!!! It's only been a few weeks, but it's hard to imagine our life without Griffin. He truly is a blessing and we thank God every day for this miracle!
Griffin is becoming more and more alert each day. When he was just 3 weeks old, he rolled over from his belly to his back. We thought it was just an accident, but he's done it several times since then! It's amazing to watch him learn and begin interacting with us. Before we know it he'll be walking.
After Christmas, we all enjoyed a week off by going to the cabin up north. (Josh's mom and dad's). The cabin is near Pine River. Josh was able to get some fishing in almost every day. The highlight of his fishing was spearing a 9 pound northern. He also got some snowmobiling in with his dad, and some snowshoeing with me. Josh is back to work now and enjoying the laid back winter hours. He's home most nights by 5:45. It's been great having him home so early compared to his summer hours. He gets to spend a couple hours with Griffin every night.
I continue to love my maternity leave!! I'll return to work March 3. As much as I like my job at the bank, I am really enjoying every minute I get to spend at home being a mom. Griffin and I stay very busy - if we are not running errands or visiting people, we are home with visitors or working on his baby book and keeping up with household chores. We have really enjoyed all of you who have come to visit us!! And we look forward to more visits!! In the last week, I started working out again. The last weeks of my pregnancy I really missed exercising! I started going to yoga again on Monday nights and I started going to Suburban Racquetball Club a couple times a week. So far it hasn't been a problem to find someone to watch Griffin. Thankfully, the Grandma's have been more than happy to watch him for a couple hours!!
